It was always going to be hard to top off Return To Murder House. However, this week’s episode of American Horror Story doesn’t try to. Instead, it just moves the story along leading up to the impending nuclear apocalypse. You know the drill. If you haven’t watched this week’s episode… SPOILER WARNING!

This week kicks straight off with New Orleans. After Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts) and Behold Chablis (Billy Porter) reported discoveries from Murder House to Cordelia (Sarah Paulson). Cordelia is pretty freaked out by the potential power of the Antichrist and decides to take drastic measures. This involves her getting in touch with voodoo magic practitioner Dinah Stevens (Adina Porter).

Straight up we know The Supreme is going to extremes, especially when we open up with Dinah feeding the bleeding heart of a mistress to a cheating husband to spell him into only ever being attracted to his wife. I gotta say there are better ways to rekindle your romance then turning to voodoo. Have you heard of realationship counseling? Probably a lot cleaner too.

Cordelia asks Dinah to arrange a meeting with Papa Legba (Lance Reddick). However, the conference doesn’t come cheap, with Dinah charging a $100,000 cash service fee. The voodoo devil is conjured up, and Cordelia asks Papa Legba to open the gates of hell to trap Michael Langdon in the underworld. He’s more than willing to oblige her wishes, but it’s gonna cost the souls of all her students. Ouch! Nothing is cheap in the witching world of American Horror Story, that’s for sure.

Because the current Supreme actually has a soul, she says no way! Dinah thinks Cordelia made the wrong decision. She has a point. The souls of her students compared the souls of 6 billion people, seems like she was getting a pretty good deal.

We also got to find out what’s been happening with Nan (Jamie Brewer). As it turns out the pint-sized witch has been having a blast in hell making “trouble.” Well at least someone got a happy ending in the afterlife.

Meanwhile, Madison is off on another mission seeking out B-grade movie actress Bubbles McGee (Joan Collins) on the set of her super bad slasher Santa movie. Bubbles can read people’s minds, and the Coven has a use for her. The pair meets up with Myrtle (Frances Conroy) for dinner where the two old friends discuss how easy it is to give blow jobs when you have mind-reading abilities. The more you know. Bubbles and Myrtle conspire to have dinner with warlocks, Ariel (Jon Jon Briones) and Baldwin (B.D. Wong), to find out what their real motives are.

After getting the pair drunk, Bubbles discovered they murdered John Henry (Cheyenne Jackson) and that they planned to destroy the witches once Michael became Supreme. The two-facedness on both sides is downright entertaining. We’re really not sure who are the biggest bitches. The witches or the warlocks? The end result fo the dinner? It’s total war!

Back at the Miss Robichaux’s Academy, there’s a bit of talk about Cordelia growing weaker, not because Michael is rising, but because Mallory (Billie Lourd) might very well be the next Supreme. After watching her perform a magical emergency tracheotomy on Coco (Leslie Grossman) after choking on SnowBall, Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) was the one who finally said what everyone was thinking.

The witches go to the place of John Henry’s death and resurrect him with Mallory’s newfound powers proving she can pass the test of the Seven Wonders. After a chat with John Henry, the witches start rolling out their new plan. Cordelia gets Coco’s help in capturing Miriam Mead (Kathy Bates).

Just when you think the walking nutrition label is in over her head when Miriam shoots her in the chest and chuckles about eating her in soup, it turns out Coco is the perfect distraction to get abducted by the Coven’s wannabe Matrix bodyguards.

Cordelia and co then seek out Ariel and Baldwin, who soon have their mouths removed for backtalking to Cordelia. The Supreme isn’t as weak as they thought. There’s no denying Cordelia has definitely grown in confidence since the events of season 3. She’s all kinds of kick-ass and we love it!

Then it’s execution time. According to witch rules, even the Supreme isn’t allowed to punish warlocks for treason, so one of their own must do it. Thank goodness they resurrected John Henry. It also must be noted he’s looking super sexy all goth’d up. He gladly pours gasoline over Miriam, which is kinda ironic considering that’s how she killed him, we then watch all three burn alive. But not before Miriam shouts out she gladly welcomes death. Cordelia should have spelled her mouth away too. Just a thought.

As the evil trio burns at the stake, the others walk away in typical superhero fashion ready to take on the ultimate evil that is Michael Langdon. However, we already know it’s not going to be as easy as that.

Also what the hell is with those wigs next week?
