The New Mutants is finally going to see the light of day. Originally a spinoff from Fox’s main X-Men franchise, the film met its fair share of production struggles with many wondering if the film would ever be released.
After Disney bought out Fox, many thought Josh Boone directed film might just end up being released on Disney+. However, it looks like The New Mutants will get theatrical release after all hitting cinemas in April 3.
Based on the Marvel comics of the same name, the film follows five young mutants who must escape the facility where they’re being held. The film dropped its first trailer back in October of 2017 and was met with several delays. Now Disney is going full steam ahead with marketing dropping a brand new trailer showing a whole heap of new footage.
While I’m completely down for this flick, it’s yet to be seen whether the film will fare better than Dark Phoenix. Now that was just a disappointment. If all goes well, perhaps Disney could use this film to launch an X-Men franchise of their own. Only time will tell.
